Job Description



• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and perform repairs as needed.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Ensures that customer’s trucks are kept clean.  Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the truck.
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right to Know, etc.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.

Job Responsibilities 
-  Diagnosing failures of vehicles as well as disassembling, repairing, and reassembling parts as necessary.
-  Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery.
-  Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other vital parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition. 
-  Adjusting and relining brakes, aligning wheels, tightening bolts and screws, and reassembling equipment.
-  Filling out and submitting all required documents in an accurate and timely manner. 

Job Requirements
To qualify for the Diesel Technician, you must have a strong understanding and proven knowledge of diesel engines and diesel engine repair. A strong work ethic and exceptional attention to detail is necessary for this role.

Additional requirements include:
-  A minimum of 2-5 years experience diagnosing and repairing class eight diesel trucks.
-  Excellent communication skills.
-  Must be 21 years of age or older.
-  Must have own tools.
-  Must be able to pass drug test and background check.
-  Possess a valid driver's licence. 
-  ASE  Certification Preferred.
